Matthew 14:22-33 walking on the sea
The apostles were troubled when they saw Jesus walking on the water. "it is a spirit"they cried out in fear. They did not expect it to be there Lord Jesus physically walking on water. It was seeming an impossible feat.
What did Peters
response indicate about him?
Peter's response was different though. He said "Lord if it be thou bid me come unto thee on the water, and he walked on the water towards Jesus." To me that says he had a lot of faith in the power of his master. If Jesus could do it why not him, through His power?
Matt 14:30 why
did Peter begin to sink?
When he saw the wind he became afraid and cried out to Jesus.
He became afraid that the miracle of him walking on water was false, or he thought that the wind would blow him over and he would drown. He lost faith in himself, and/or the Savior's power.
What did Peter do
when he began to sink?
He cried out unto the Lord. "Lord save me." He had enough faith to cry out and know that Jesus could save him. He could have silently fallen into the water and in panic and no had any faith.
What word in the
verses describe the expediency or the timing in which Jesus responded
to Peter's request?
He immediately caught him by his hand, but also rebuked him. It was appropriate for Christ to both save him and rebuke him. He was disappointed in him for letting his faith fail when he was so close!

Write a paragraph describing what what principal from this verse
relates to what Peter did to successfully walk on the water. How can
this same principal be applied to our lives to assist you walking
through the storms of life?
When Peter first started walking on water he has his eye single to the glory of God. His whole body was filled with the light of Christ. When he allowed fear and darkness into his heart his whole body was no longer full of the light of Christ and thus the power to walk on water left him. He was also unable to comprehend how and what was happening when he could walk on water.
We can apply this to our lives all the time. If we keep the Holy Ghost with us and not drive it away then we are able to perform the miracles he wants us to. Whither it be saying the right thing to a friend or stranger to make their day better or noticing when your daughter needs you to take a break from homework.
One major thing the BYU-I teaches is that if we keep our lives clean and not offend God, driving away the Holy Ghost, then we will be able to better instill our studies into our lives and get straight A's. This concept can apply to all types of learning be it math or how to be in a healthy relationship with others.
